Hansraj College is one of the better colleges under the University of Delhi offering quality education in all the three streams- arts, science and commerce. The college was founded in 1948 by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee in sacred memory of Mahatma Hansraj, the founder Principal of D.A.V College, Lahore
and a pioneer in the field of education. A multi-faculty premier institution with highly qualified academicians imparting education in different fields, the college today enjoys a reputation for outstanding performance in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities and attracts students from all over the country and abroad.

The college admits students to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Apart from providing pass course degrees it also offers B.A. (Hons), B.Sc. (hons) and B. Com (Hons) courses. One can also earn postgraduate degrees in M.A., M Com and M.Sc. from this
college.

Admission to under graduate program depends upon the percentage of marks obtained in 10+2 or its equivalent. In order to get admitted to the B. Com (Hons) and B.A. (Hons) or B. Sc. (Hons) one needs to have the required cut-off marks that are declared every year by the college and is in the region of 88-90% for most streams. The SC /ST candidates need not apply to the college and are instead required to apply directly to the Central Admission Committee of the University. For admission to the post graduate program candidates first need to register themselves with the respective faculty of the University of Delhi and then submit their applications.
